Credits & removal requests
This is a personal game journal, and some of what makes it useful was made by other people: maps drawn by fans, item tables compiled over years, wikis, achievement sets. Everything borrowed is credited on the page that uses it and listed below. If something here is yours and you want it gone, there is a link for that.
Ask for something to be removed
If you made something that appears on this site - a map, a table, a screenshot, a piece of writing - and you would rather it was not here, tell me and it comes down. You do not have to prove ownership, quote a law, or send anything formal. Asking is enough.
Include if you can
- The address of the page on this site.
- Which part of it is yours.
- How you are connected to it - author, publisher, or acting for them.
- Whether you want it removed, or only credited differently.
I read these myself, so give me a few days. The page comes down or the material is stripped out of it first; anything we need to sort out afterwards can wait until it is gone. The site is rebuilt from a git repository, so a removal also takes it out of the next build rather than leaving it cached.
Send it to
Email opens a draft with the subject and questions already filled in - delete whatever does not apply, or just write the address down and send your own. The form asks the same questions on GitHub, where the issue stays public and trackable until it is closed.
Every guide that uses outside material also has this link at the bottom, already pointing at that page.
Policy
How I use other people's material
- Link, don't rehost Where the original is online and stays online, I link to it instead of copying it. The Dragon Warrior map guide is a list of links to the archive that hosts them, not a copy of the maps.
- Credit on the page itself Anything borrowed is named at the bottom of the page that uses it, with a link back, so nobody has to dig through a licence file to find out who made it.
- Facts get rewritten Prices, drop rates and locations are facts and cannot be owned, but someone still did the work of collecting them. Tables here are re-typed and re-worded, and the compiler is credited anyway.
- Removal beats argument If a source would rather not appear here, that is the end of it. I would rather lose a page than keep something its author does not want reproduced.

Data sources
- RetroAchievements
Achievement lists, badge images, points and unlock dates come from the RetroAchievements Web API. The achievements themselves were designed by the set authors credited on each set.
- Game publishers and developers
Game titles, box art, screenshots and logos are used to identify the games I write about and to comment on them. They belong to their publishers, who have no connection to this site.

Sources by page
Each guide or tracker that builds on someone else’s work names its sources here and at the bottom of the page.
-
Every map linked from this page is hosted there and was drawn by Chiasm (towns, castles and dungeons) and Rick Bruns (the overworld). None of them are copied onto this site.
-
Item effects, prices and locations were compiled there; the tables here are re-typed and re-worded from that data.
- Mega Man Wiki CC BY-SA
Chip numbers, names, codes, elements, damage and descriptions (BN1 values) were compiled there.

Reusing my work
Everything I wrote here - the guides, trackers, reviews and notes - is free to copy, change and republish, even commercially, as long as you credit Hunt the Past and link back. That is CC BY 4.0; the code that builds the site is MIT. The full terms, including what those licences do not cover, are in LICENSE-CONTENT.md.
